Dale, a lifelong musician who began playing accordion and singing in church at age 5. Arriving in the Okanagan Valley from the US in 1970 after a failed attempt at applying for Conscientious Objector status during the Vietnam war, he organised and played in coffee houses in Summerland, Naramta and Penticton. After moving to the Kelowna area with wife Donna Denison, they cleared six acres of land to farm organically, started Little Creek Dressing and raised three children. Even with all that work and 28 years as a volunteer fireman Dale still found time to play music locally, placing second in Talented Kelowna in 2015 (losing to Ben Klick) and placing second in the Okanagan Singer Songwriter contest. Dale now plays locally as well as participating in the music therapy program at the Parkinson Rec Centre.
Dale joined the Creative Okanagan board with the intent of supporting the vision and mission and award winning work that has transpired, and of course the challenge of Breakout West 2023 taking place in Kelowna. It is an honour to share a position on the board with directors that poses such depth of experience.
