On August 15th the City of West Kelowna’s Music in the Park, presented by RE/MAX, welcomes Nouveau Funk and Jodie B.

Jodie B is a producer, audio engineer, live loop performer, Ableton instructor, mother, fiance, adventure enthusiast and co-owner of Kelowna’s Music Studio and Coffee Shop; Frequency Sound 528.
Despite all the titles, she just wants to make music that connects people to their higher purpose and inspires those around her to see all the beauty and gratitude that life has to offer.

Have you ever wondered what legendary artists like Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, or your favorite funk and pop hits would sound like fused with jazz, funk, R&B, hip hop, or gospel, all with a modern, vibrant twist? Imagine a band like Snarky Puppy delivering their unique style to these classics or reimagining epic tracks like “Bohemian Rhapsody” with seamless transitions, surprises, and raw energy through custom arrangements. This is the essence of Nouveau Funk—an energetic live band that combines the infectious grooves of a talented DJ with the spontaneity and power of a live performance. They also reimagine traditional New Orleans gospel and classic tunes, incorporating modern New Orleans artists like Trombone Shorty and The Meters. The band consists of eight musicians, including four horns, vocals, and a dynamic rhythm section, drawing from a rich repertoire that spans New Orleans classics, jazz legends, and contemporary acts like Snarky Puppy and Roy Hargrove. They are perfect for any New Orleans-themed event or gig.
