Barry Allen, P. Eng., M.B.A.
Barry’s journey in the entertainment industry began as a bass guitarist and electric guitarist with the Saskatoon-based rock band Dixon Jane, where he honed his musical talents and contributed to the band’s dynamic sound. After relocating to Kelowna, Barry took a break from performing, but his passion for music was reignited when he joined the Kelowna-based recording act Crisprr. With the encouragement of three talented artists, Barry has returned to the stage and rediscovered his love for live performance.
In addition to his music career, Barry brings a wealth of executive-level experience, having led large publicly traded aerospace companies as well as high-tech wireless startups on the international stage. He has also served on numerous for-profit and non-profit boards, including those in the fields of amateur sports, racing, and food & beverage, offering a unique blend of business acumen and creative insight. Currently, he chairs the Society of Automotive Engineers G18 standards committee and is actively involved in several industry advisory groups.
When not making music or advocating for creative industries, Barry enjoys an active lifestyle, spending his free time on his road bike, kayaking, hiking, or cross-country skiing.
